Apprehension of fugitives from justice papers, 1863-1867.

These papers document the actions or petitions for actions by Governor Thomas E. Bramlette to bring about the apprehension of fugitives from justice. Included are requests to the governor for: warrants on those who jump bail; rewards to be offered for fugitives; and copies of pertinent indictments and case histories. Also included are several cases involving election officials who refused to allow certain individuals to vote, or to vote for the candidate of their choice.
